Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are conditions affecting the heart and blood vessels and represent the leading cause of morbidity and mortality globally. Newer technologies improving the management of CVD are urgently needed. Urinary proteomics offers through the unique capillary electrophoresis online coupled to mass spectrometry platform (CE-MS) method, a mean to improve the diagnosis and prognosis of CVD. In the context of SysVasc (Systems Biology to Identify Molecular Targets for Vascular Treatment), MASCARA (MArkers for Subclinical CArdiovascular Risk Assessment) and HOMAGE (Heart OMics in AGEing) diagnostic and prognostic classifiers for the management of CVD were developed.
